Wear Jewelry Like Victoria Beckham
As both the wife of professional soccer player David Beckham and a celebrity herself, you can bet that Victoria Beckham finds herself in the camera’s eye almost every time she leaves the house. Jewelry is the secret weapon of every female celebrity, whether she’s strolling the red carpet or stepping out to the corner store for another box of ginger tea. A subtle pair of earrings, a bracelet full of bling, or a bold gemstone pendant necklace all add a particularly personal touch to an outfit and over time, each individual woman’s accessory style becomes part of her signature look. So, our first rule of thumb is:
1. Never Leave Home Without It
Whether you’re a soccer mom or a soccer wife, there is no excuse for not glitzing up your lobes, neck and wrists. Our favorite ex-Spice Girl has no qualms about steeling the spotlight, on the sidelines or the red carpet. Victoria loves ornate jewelry, like rhinestone chandelier earrings, blue sapphire pendant necklaces and studded diamond circle pendants. She often pairs diamonds with stunning gemstones, enhancing the sparkle and attraction of each. Her trick is achieving a balance between the accessories and the rest of her ensemble by pinning her hair up and choosing simple, off-the-shoulder lines.

Unlike clothing, the most beautiful jewelry is timeless, so it can be worn again and again, with almost any outfit. However, just like clothing, jewelry colors and designs must be tailored to the individual wearer to complement her natural features best. So keep in mind that accessories are your opportunity to make your ensemble specifically yours and to develop your very own personal style. Which brings us to rule number two:
2. Pick Colors Strategically
There are a couple of rules to finding a color that complements eye color, hair color and skin tone. The first is that when two colors are near each other, opposites enhance, but similar tones clash. This means that if your head boasts beautiful red locks, a big green necklace will make both colors much more striking, whereas a yellow or red necklace would probably dull both down to a plain, brownish mess.
The second rule is, the farther you stray from the source, the more likely that similar colors will catch and improve each other. That’s why Victoria is so big on blue gemstones – from her neckline, this blue accessory is meant to bring out the blue in her eyes, since eyes are small and far away from most jewelry. When, however, Victoria is looks to draw attention to her fabulous tan, you can bet that her earrings, necklace or bracelet are full of white diamonds and pearls to ensure close-up contrast.

3. Fit Your Face
Take a look at your own shape and figure out who you are – long, round or oval? Long faces look great with linear cascade earring designs, while round faces look best with short, drop or cluster earrings. Heart or oval shape faces allow longer, bigger hoops and chandeliers to fill in the space below the chin.
